Manteca

Last time I was here I had a little kitchen accident and sliced off a good part of my finger tip! It's crazy how sensitive such a small area can be. OUCH!! It was looking pretty bad for a while, but it finally started to dry up and heal, and 6 1/2 weeks later it is finally looking almost normal. Just a little bit of skin left to regrow. It will be nice to be able to play the piano with that finger again. I've been able to play pretty much normally for the past few weeks, I just have to avoid that finger, which can be tricky, and a little painful if I accidentally use it.

Anyway, I have all of May off from work so I decided to spend a lot of time up in Manteca so Zeke and I could see Kirk everyday. It's been nice being together like a regular family again!

baseball in Manteca

Zeke has had fun having mommy around all the time too. We go for a walk every morning and then play at the park for a while. There is this really cool park a few blocks away with 5 different slides and tunnels and bridges and all sorts of fun stuff. 

His new love is baseball. Kirk's apartment complex has a nice little park with lots of open grass around it where we have played several times. Zeke plays it more like golf, but it's fun to watch how excited he gets. He has to carry his own ball, bat and glove, and when he's done playing he likes to try to climb onto the park aparatus while still carrying everything. He finally figured out it would be easier to throw everything up and then climb onto it.
