Maiden Voyage

On our honeymoon (last September) we stayed in this cute bed & breakfast on the coast. There was this kite shop nearby and we thought it would be fun to buy one of those trick kites that can do flips and stuff. So we bought one.

See how pretty it is?

But somehow we never got around to using it until today, only 8 months later =) It took us a while to figure out how to assemble all the pieces...

...and then we realized that it didn't come with handles, so Kirk improvised.
The biggest problem was that there was not enough consistent wind. We would get a good gust and then it would die suddenly, sending the kite crashing to the ground.
Here is Kirk's attempt at a video.
WARNING: watching this may make you very dizzy.

If you watch carefully, you can catch glimpses of me flying the kite in the backgroud. If you are lucky, you can actually see the kite, too.

Hummer

Kirk has spent the past several months "building" a hummer erector set. I say "building" because it's just been sitting there, collecting dust. =)
But he finally finished it yesterday.

Here's a couple of videos of the first run.
The first one is sideways, sorry!

One of our favorite things to do is tease each other. All out of good fun =)In case you couldn't hear what Kirk said in response to my accusation that he was a bad driver, he says, "Maybe you should go inside and cook something."

The second try worked a lot better.

Edible Arrangement

I was feeling more creative than usual and decided to try copying those edible arrangement fruit bouquets instead of doing a regular fruit tray for a friend's bridal shower. It made a sticky mess, and I couldn't figure out how to add as much as I wanted, but it was kind of fun.

I changed my mind

My first flowers from Kirk. I decided getting flowers is nice, even if they don't last long.

Swimming in legos

I'm not sure why I think this is so fun, but I did it with Eli when he was younger too.

Family Pics

My mom wanted to get a family photo since we were all home this weekend.
It's Bryan tradition to take a silly photo as well. Anna and I were trying to make it look like we were attacking each other =)

Next stop, Broadway

My dad was in a local production of "Joseph and the Amazing Techicolor Dreamcoat." The final performance was last night. Kirk and I drove up to see it.

It was great! My dad's part was Levi, one of the 12 sons of Jacob. His character had a solo, "Those Canaan Days" where he was supposed to be French. He sang a song with a French accent and did an AWESOME job. I thought it was the best performance of the play!!
