I just found out that my husband is coming home, tonight!! Everyone has been asking me a thousand questions about what he's going to do next and how long he'll be home and if and when he's going to Iraq and where we're going to live and what he's going to do in the long run...
My new answer is, "I'm not sure yet. We're just taking it one step at a time" =)
For a while I was borderline freaking out about all of the aforementioned questions, but I finally realized that it won't do any good to get all worried. Not that we're not thinking about any of them-- We have of course been making tentative plans and all, but we have to just wait and see.
I'm just excited that I get to see Kirk, tonight!!!

More light, finally
So I've been dying the last week and a half, waiting to hear from Kirk. When he said, "Next week" it was Tuesday, so I was thinking the weekend or early in the week. Soon I realized that he probably meant not until the END of the next week. And in fact, he called me yesterday and we got to have a real conversation for the first time since he left.
He still isn't sure if he's coming home or not, but it sounds like that's what's going to happen.

Crazy day
Besides bursting out in tears at the DMV, today was quite the normal day. Oh wait, my husband also called out of the blue (he wasn't supposed to be able to call until next week) and told me he might be coming home and going to Iraq instead!!! That's seriously all he told me! He didn't have much time to talk, so I was left with a million questions, of course. So far being a military wife it great!!

Update
So Kirk decided to leave me just 3 weeks after the wedding! How rude is that!?
I took him to the airport yesterday in San Diego. He's on his way to Virginia to report to Officers Candidate School for the Marine Corps. He's supposed to be there for 10 weeks and is set to graduate on December 12th. After that I am planning to move out to Virginia while he finishes up the rest of Officers training. We'll probably be out there until at least October of 09.
I of course have mixed emotions about the whole thing-- my main fear is that I will freeze to death =) But more than anything it is very exciting to have the chance to live out on the East coast for a while. It's only 30 miles south of DC, so there will be lots to see and explore.
I can't talk to him for the first 3 weeks, so that's going to be hard...
